Adult Education and Fellowship

Each week at Irvine Presbyterian Church (IPC) there are a number of regularly scheduled Bible study classes and adult fellowship groups. These classes are a great way for a person to learn more about the Christian walk with fellow pilgrims. Each class is open to all who have a desire to grow in their walk with God.

The above links will take you to the meeting locations and times as noted. There you will find basic information about each function and contacts for addtional information as needed

Information regarding class times, locations and topics is always published in the IPC Weekly Bulletin, Church Life at IPC.

Verbum Dei

Place: Jack Davis Room (Room C205)

Each Sunday, we begin our time together with songs of worship, then spend some time discussing the book we are currently reading together.

Our group discussions seek to not only understand the message that the author is conveying, but to understand how the Lord wants us to respond.

We have explored works from the likes of N.T. Wright, Henri Nouwen, Rick Warren and other Christian writers.

Join us as we seek to understand God's will for our lives and spend some time in prayer for each other on Sunday mornings.

Each class is a self-contained unit, so feel free to drop in even if you haven't been able to join us for the previous weeks.

Please also feel free to join us in fellowship for our weekly evening walks and an occasional BBQ.

Dates and locations vary, so come Sunday mornings for more information.

All are welcome.

E-mail karen Zak for additional information.

Christian Apologetics Class - "Questions"

Place: Fireside Alcove - 6:30 to 8:00 A.M.

Teacher: Don Barkley

Many people have apathy or anger toward religion - friends, business associates…even family. At times we avoid spiritual conversations for fear of rejection, or not knowing what to say. We wish we were better prepared, and had good solid answers.

Learn how to think through your faith and answer tough questions people ask about God, Christ and the Bible.

QUESTIONS...a nine month apologetics class every Monday morning from 6:30 to 8:00 in the Fireside Room.

Coffee, orange juice, coffee cake and fruit are served while 16 participants learn how to give solid answers to questions about our Christian Faith.

One of the nice features of this class is that you can enter anywhere along the way.
While Christians are required to tell others about their faith in Christ many do not because they do not feel equipped to answer questions. This course covers difficult subjects like:

"Isn’t the Bible put together by men and full of errors?"

"If God is loving and powerful, why is the world filled with evil and suffering?"

"If Christ is the only savior of the world, what about sincere believers in Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, and Buddhism…are they all wrong?"

No sign-up necessary...Just show up. E-Mail Greg Bright for additional information.
